Why write to dell when I can get a perfectly good $13 keyboard from amazon?

There is a keyboard that lets you move the number pad to the left already - it's called the sidewinder. I think I may have seen other keyboards with this feature as well (especially gaming keyboards).

I actually like this keyboard better than the dell one now that I have been using it a bit - the keys just seem a bit snappier. But then it is newer. :)

Thanks for stopping by!

I have used Photoshop through wine (see: http://www.flickr.com/photos/nirak/559140425/), but it doesn't work right (slow, some of the filters/other features don't work at all). And it is not only Photoshop - I depend on many Adobe applications, including Illustrator and InDesign. The drivers for my Wacom tablets never quite worked right, either. As a professional designer, it's important to me that my tools work, without fighting with them for hours.

I am sad to have had to leave Ubuntu (at least in part) and I do miss it, but tools are important.

Ahhh.

I get your point. Still one could always write to Dell & suggest they make a keyboard that has the numeric pad on the left. (from a Left-hander's POV : this would be great) but I am afraid lefties like me are in the minority.

Still, I suspect Leonardo would solved the issue another way. (given his mirror writing). He would have turned the keyboard upside down.

Not quite the same...but you get the picture ;)

The problem with the dell is that I have to reach too far for the mouse- which makes my wrist hurt. Since I've been using the smaller keyboard, no more wrist pain. :)

I dunno Karin.

As the Romans used to say, "we may agree on everything but taste".

I use the Dell keyboard as pictured. I find it one of the most ergonomically well designed keyboards out there.

Yet, if i may be so bold, what baffles me, is your need for the numeric pad, when you already have one built into the Dell Keyboard.

I must be missing the point...

Oh well..

Cheers

Well hello again. My second post. I understand your frustration with Ubuntu. But perhaps you may be a bit premature in ditching it because of your liking of Photoshop.

I am not sure if you know that Photoshop can be run on Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Xubuntu or whatever flavor of Linux your like. (I like Chakra : look it up on Distrowatch.)

All you for Photoshop to work with linux is to install 'Wine'.

PS : In case you want to play with Chakra here is the link.

Re your name...

Bugger...

You beat me to it...

But congrats anyway.

I am with you on the whole OS-Agnostics business.

I use Linux, Unix, OS-X & Windows.

I have even been known to dabble with Freedos & Reactos, & OpenSolaris..(although one of the Solaris bosses wanted to have me banned from their forum, for suggesting that their name Ïndiana" name was dumb...& their hidden password idea was dumber still.. ;)

But that my friend is an ancient story...

Cheers

Aqua Fyre.
